Registered Nurse – Surgical Observation Unit
Position Overview
The facility's Surgical Observation Unit provides postoperative care to patients across multiple specialties including orthopedic, urology, ENT, and general surgery. You'll deliver direct patient care, collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, and uphold safe, evidence-based nursing practices.
Schedule
- 12-hour night shifts: 7 PM – 7 AM
- 36 hours per week
- 1 weekend shift per week OR 2 weekend shifts every other weekend
- At least 1 holiday required per contract
- Block scheduling may be requested (not guaranteed)
- Must demonstrate flexibility with scheduling needs
Requirements
- Active New York RN license
- AHA BLS certification
- 2 years of acute hospital experience, with 1 recent year in a surgical specialty
- For non-U.S. candidates: 2 years of U.S. work experience required
- Willingness to float to other units as needed
- Residence more than 50 miles from the facility
