Surgical Observation Unit – RN (Night Shift)
About the Role
You'll provide direct patient care in a surgical observation unit managing postoperative patients across orthopedic, urology, ENT, and general surgery specialties. You'll collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care and support patient recovery in the immediate postoperative period.
Shift & Schedule
- 12-hour night shifts: 7 PM – 7 AM / 7 AM – 7 PM rotation
- 36 hours per week
- 1 weekend shift per week, or 2 weekend shifts every other weekend
- Minimum 1 holiday shift required during contract
- Block scheduling may be requested but is not guaranteed
Requirements
- Active New York RN license
- AHA BLS certification
- Minimum 2 years acute hospital experience with at least 1 recent year in this specialty
- Non-U.S. candidates: 2 years of U.S. work experience required
- Willingness to float to other units as needed
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
- Flexibility to meet facility scheduling needs

- Guaranteed hours: 112 weeks

Charge nurse experience is a plus but not required.
