Nuclear Medicine Technologist
About the Role
The facility's nuclear medicine department is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to perform routine and advanced imaging procedures, support efficient patient flow, and maintain high standards of safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of routine and advanced imaging procedures
- Support fellow imaging technologists to ensure smooth patient throughput
- Maintain radiation safety protocols while handling radionuclides and pharmaceuticals
- Troubleshoot basic equipment maintenance and image processing issues
- Scan and store exams correctly in the facility's imaging system; serve as a PACS Superuser during system downtime
- Complete daily logs and periodic tests as required by licensure
- Participate in ongoing education and technical advances within your scope of practice
- Report equipment malfunctions to management and biomedical personnel
- Adapt care methods to meet individual patient needs
- Demonstrate strong communication and collaboration with physicians, colleagues, and management
Schedule & Expectations
- Shift: 7 AM – 5 PM, Monday–Friday (4 x 10 schedule)
- On-call/Weekend: Weekend and on-call rotations required, typically every second or third weekend
- Flexibility: May be asked to work other shifts or at other facility locations as needed
- Stay past 5 PM until all cases are completed for the day
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technology program or equivalent
- Nuclear Medicine Technology (N) certification by ARRT or NMTCB
- Texas state licensure (MRT by TMB)
- BLS certification (AHA)
- Basic computer skills
- 1 year clinical nuclear medicine experience preferred
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
