Nurse Manager – 13-Week Contract

Position Overview

The facility is seeking an experienced Nurse Manager to provide administrative and clinical leadership for an assigned unit or department. This is a day shift role (7:30 AM–4:00 PM, Monday–Friday) for a 13-week contract.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation to ensure safe patient care coverage
• Monitor unit performance metrics, quality indicators, and regulatory compliance
• Support staff development, performance evaluations, and corrective action as needed
• Serve as a clinical resource and escalation point for complex patient care or staff issues
• Develop and maintain record-keeping systems for medication errors and counseling documentation
• Collaborate with physicians, department leaders, and hospital administration on operational needs
• Facilitate staff meetings, education, and onboarding for new team members
• Address patient and family concerns while maintaining satisfaction and safety standards
• Participate in budget planning, supply management, and process improvement initiatives

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited program
• Active RN license in New York State (primary source verification required)
• Minimum 7 years of clinical nursing experience, including at least 5 years in a supervisory or charge nurse role
• BLS certification
• Strong leadership, staffing, and performance management skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Nursing
• ACLS certification
