Emergency Department RN – 3rd Shift

Position Overview

The facility is seeking a compassionate and skilled RN to join the Emergency Department. You'll provide direct patient care in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment, managing patients across a wide range of emergent and urgent conditions. This role offers clinical autonomy within scope of practice and the opportunity to make an immediate impact in emergency care.

Shift & Duration

• 3rd shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Three 12-hour shifts per week
• Weekends and holidays as needed
• 13-week contract
• Start date: October 19, 2026

Key Responsibilities

• Perform rapid and comprehensive assessments to determine patient acuity and prioritize care
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions per physician orders and established protocols
• Respond to trauma activations, codes, and rapid patient deterioration with appropriate interventions
• Monitor and manage patients awaiting admission, transfer, or discharge
• Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and the interdisciplinary team on care planning
• Provide patient and family education on discharge instructions and follow-up care
• Maintain accurate documentation in the EMR
• Ensure infection control, safety protocols, and de-escalation techniques are followed
• Support team members and contribute to a positive, healing environment

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted RN license in Kentucky (or valid compact license)
• ADN or BSN
• Current BLS certification
• 1+ years of ED experience
• ACLS and PALS certifications required
• Experience with protocols and high-acuity environments

Preferred Qualifications

• BSN degree
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
• CEN (Certified Emergency Nurse)
