Progressive Care Unit Nurse
Position Overview
The facility seeks a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) nurse for a 13-week contract in Wichita, KS. This is a night shift role (7:00 PM–7:30 AM, 4 days per week) with every-other-weekend scheduling and no call requirement.
Unit & Clinical Scope
You'll provide direct patient care in a progressive care setting, managing intermediate-acuity patients who require close monitoring and skilled nursing intervention. Responsibilities include patient assessment, care coordination, medication administration, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
Staffing Model
Float assignments to similar units on the same campus or other campuses within Wichita may be required.
Requirements
- Current, active RN license (verification through Nursys required)
- Completion of facility core competencies, EKG exam, and unit-specific orientation
- Required immunizations: MMR, Varicella, Tdap, Hepatitis B, Influenza
- TB screening (2-step PPD or IGRA)
- Drug screening and background check
- Health statement and fit test
