Position: PCU Stepdown Nurse
Facility & Unit
The facility's progressive care unit (PCU) manages step-down patients transitioning from higher acuity settings. You'll provide care to patients recovering from acute illness or post-procedure, supporting their continued progress toward discharge.
Shift & Schedule
- Hours: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (nights)
- Days: 4 x 12-hour shifts per week
- Weekends: Every other weekend (no call)
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Guaranteed Hours: 48 per week
Responsibilities
You'll assess and monitor patients, administer medications, coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams, and support family education. Float assignments to similar units on campus or within Wichita may occur as needed.
Requirements
- Current RN license (state licensure verification required)
- BLS/ACLS or equivalent
- Immunizations: MMR, Varicella, Tdap, Hepatitis B, Influenza
- Tuberculosis screening (TB questionnaire)
- Drug screening and fit test
- Background check and employment verification
