PACU Registered Nurse
Position Overview
The facility seeks a Registered Nurse for its Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). You will provide specialized nursing care to patients recovering from anesthesia following surgical and diagnostic procedures. This role requires strong clinical assessment skills, quick decision-making, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor individualized patient care plans
- Closely monitor, record, and communicate patient conditions
- Manage pain and nausea during the immediate post-anesthesia period
- Identify and respond to postoperative complications
- Coordinate care across all disciplines to ensure safe patient recovery
- Execute physician and nursing orders accurately
- Assess discharge planning needs and coordinate with the healthcare team
- Adhere to Standard Precautions and infection control protocols
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred)
- Current BLS certification
- ACLS certification
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, communication, and emergency response skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous PACU, ICU, critical care, ED, or perioperative nursing experience
- CPAN or CAPA certification
- PALS certification (for pediatric patients)
- Experience with airway management and hemodynamic monitoring
Assignment Details
- Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Start Date: September 22, 2026
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
