Neuro/Stroke Nurse – 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
About the Role
You'll provide direct nursing care in a neuro/stroke unit serving adult patients with telemetry monitoring capability. This 13-week contract offers a chance to work in a specialized clinical environment where you'll manage high-acuity neurological and stroke patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor individualized patient care plans
- Assess patient conditions and communicate updates to the healthcare team
- Coordinate interdisciplinary care and discharge planning needs
- Execute physician and nursing orders with precision
- Provide direct patient care while utilizing virtual sitter monitoring and telemetry technology
- Work collaboratively with PCTs and unit coordinators to support patients
- Apply critical thinking and sound judgment in a fast-paced environment
What You'll Need
- Current RN license (verification required)
- NIH Stroke Scale certification
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Willingness to thrive in a high-acuity setting
Schedule & Expectations
- Shift: 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Weekend requirement: Up to 6 weekend shifts per 6-week period
- Holiday coverage: Based on department needs
- Guaranteed hours: 36 per week
Standard Requirements
Standard precautions and appropriate use of personal protective equipment required. Onboarding includes facility-specific competency assessments and health requirements (vaccinations, background check, drug screening).
