RN – Medical-Surgical

Location: Greeley, CO

Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Schedule: Every other weekend and holidays per unit rotation

About the Role

The facility is seeking a Medical-Surgical RN to join a busy inpatient unit caring for adults with diverse medical and surgical diagnoses, including oncology and telemetry patients. You'll manage a typical patient load of 4–6 patients per shift, providing comprehensive assessment, medication administration, wound care, and discharge planning.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to medical, surgical, and oncology patients across varying acuity levels
• Monitor patient conditions continuously; escalate changes in status promptly
• Manage pre- and post-operative care, including wound management and pain control
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders
• Coordinate interdisciplinary care and patient education for discharge
• Read telemetry strips and respond to cardiac rhythm changes
• Document thoroughly in the electronic health record
• Maintain infection control and fall prevention standards

Requirements

• Active RN license in Colorado (or current compact license)
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• NIHSS certification required
• Colorado CAPS certification required
• Minimum 1+ years of Med-Surg nursing experience
• Proficiency reading telemetry strips and managing cardiac patients
• ADN or BSN
• CMSRN preferred
