Registered Nurse – ICU, Night Shift

Position Overview

The facility is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for its ICU, working night shift (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) on a 13-week contract. You'll join a team managing high-acuity patients requiring critical care monitoring, post-operative support, and complex interventions.

What You'll Do

• Assess and reassess patient conditions, implementing individualized care plans aligned with established protocols
• Monitor and interpret cardiac arrhythmias and EKG changes with accuracy
• Manage mechanical ventilation, including weaning and care of intubated patients
• Administer vasoactive medications and manage hemodynamic monitoring
• Assess and manage patient pain, adjusting interventions based on response
• Interpret arterial blood gases and monitor airway clearance
• Implement thrombolytic and anticoagulation protocols per standards
• Provide post-operative monitoring and identify potential complications early
• Document thoroughly, including medication reconciliation and protocol adherence
• Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and communicate patient updates to the care team
• Delegate and supervise nursing tasks while prioritizing patient safety
• Identify and report risks to patient safety proactively

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• Current MA RN License
• ACLS certification upon hire (or active BLS with ACLS within 60 days)
• Minimum 1 year medical-surgical experience (telemetry experience required; ICU experience preferred)
• CCRN certification preferred

Schedule

• 36 hours per week, nights
• Every other weekend and holiday

Physical Demands

• Frequent reaching, handling, and fine motor work
• Occasional lifting (20–50 lbs) and bending/kneeling
