Registered Nurse – ICU, Night Shift

Position Overview

The facility is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for its ICU on a 13-week contract. You'll work nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), every other weekend and holiday.

Clinical Scope

This role manages high-acuity patients requiring:

• Cardiac monitoring and arrhythmia interpretation
• EKG analysis and hemodynamic monitoring
• Mechanical ventilation management, including intubation care and weaning
• Arterial blood gas interpretation and airway assessment
• Thrombolytic and anticoagulation therapy protocols
• Vasoactive medication titration
• Post-operative and post-procedure monitoring
• Pain assessment and management

You'll participate in multidisciplinary rounds, implement VAP bundle protocols, and ensure thorough medication reconciliation and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, and implement individualized nursing interventions
• Provide compassionate, dignified patient care that respects autonomy
• Educate patients and families; coordinate safe discharge planning
• Delegate and supervise nursing tasks; prioritize care effectively
• Monitor for safety risks and report errors/deviations proactively
• Administer medications and IV therapy per protocol
• Document thoroughly and communicate timely handoffs to the care team
• Support colleague development and engage in professional learning

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• Current Massachusetts RN license
• ACLS certification upon hire (or active BLS with ACLS within 60 days)
• Minimum 1 year medical-surgical experience
• Telemetry experience required
• ICU experience preferred
• CCRN preferred

Schedule & Physical Demands

36-hour week, night shifts. Ability to lift/exert 20–50 lbs occasionally, 10–25 lbs frequently; frequent reaching and handling; occasional stooping and kneeling.
