Medical-Surgical Float Pool RN — Boston, MA

8-Week Contract | Rotating Days/Nights | 72 Hours Guaranteed Biweekly

This float pool position supports a broad range of medical-surgical units covering neurology, cardiac, bariatric, general medicine, general surgery, GYN/GU, orthopedics (hips and joints), oncology, liver and kidney transplant, and vascular services.

Shift Details

• Rotating combination of 8- and 12-hour shifts (days, evenings, and nights)
• Every other weekend required; holidays required
• Schedules rotate approximately every 2–3 weeks per unit assignment; some shift assignments may be given with short notice
• No call required

Clinical Scope

• Unit procedures include 12-lead EKGs, Lasix drips, blood transfusions, and telemetry monitoring
• Respiratory therapists manage ventilators; RNs are responsible for nebulizer administration

Requirements

• Active Massachusetts RN license required at time of submission
• Minimum 3 years of RN experience; prior travel experience required
• BLS and ACLS (AHA) required
• High-acuity inpatient experience, including experience in a teaching hospital setting
• Basic computer and web-based application navigation skills

• Float pool assignment rotating across multiple medical-surgical units
• Orientation held weekly on Mondays (excluding holidays)
• Any color scrubs accepted
• Public transportation available; on-site parking available (fee may apply)
• All RTO requests must be submitted at time of application; no more than three days RTO accepted; no holiday RTO approved
