Medical-Surgical Float Pool RN | Boston, MA | 8-Week Contract

This float pool RN position supports a broad range of medical-surgical units within a fast-paced inpatient environment. Travel RNs rotate across units specializing in neurology, cardiac, bariatric, general medicine, general surgery, gynecology, genitourinary, orthopedics (hips and joints), oncology, transplant (liver and kidney), and vascular care.

Schedule

• Rotating day/night shifts combining 8- and 12-hour shifts
• Each 4-week cycle includes one week with one 12-hour shift and three 8-hour shifts
• Every other weekend and holidays required
• No on-call required
• Guaranteed 72 hours biweekly
• Schedule flexibility required; unit assignments may be provided as close as 2 hours before shift start

Clinical Scope

• High-acuity med-surg population across multiple specialty units
• Procedures include 12-lead EKGs, Lasix drips, blood transfusions, and telemetry monitoring
• Respiratory therapists manage ventilators; RNs administer nebulizers

Requirements

• Active Massachusetts RN license required at time of submission
• Minimum 3 years of RN experience
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• High-acuity/teaching hospital experience preferred
• BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) required
• Basic computer proficiency required

Additional Details

• Any color scrubs accepted
• Orientation held weekly (Mondays, excluding holidays)
• Public transportation accessible; on-site parking available (fee applies for day shifts)
• All time-off requests must be submitted at time of application; no holiday RTO will be approved
