Med Surg Tele

Medical-Surgical Float Pool RN — Boston, MA

8-Week Contract | Rotating Shifts | Start Date: February 1

This float pool position supports a wide range of medical-surgical units covering specialties including neurology, cardiac, bariatric, general medicine, general surgery, gynecology, urology, orthopedics (hips and joints), oncology, liver and kidney transplant, and vascular.

Shift & Schedule

• Rotating days, evenings, and nights with a combination of 8- and 12-hour shifts
• Typical 4-week cycle includes one 12-hour shift and three 8-hour shifts per week
• Every other weekend required; holidays required
• Guaranteed 72 hours biweekly
• No on-call required
• Unit assignments may be provided as close as 2 hours before shift start

Clinical Scope

• Unit procedures include 12-lead EKGs, Lasix drips, blood transfusions, and telemetry monitoring
• Respiratory therapy manages ventilators; RNs administer nebulizers

Requirements

• Active Massachusetts RN license required at time of submission
• Minimum 3 years of RN experience
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• High-acuity inpatient experience required
• BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) required
• Prior experience in a teaching hospital or specialty area preferred
• Basic computer proficiency required

• Any color scrubs accepted
• Public transportation accessible; daily parking fees apply for day-shift workers
• All time-off requests must be submitted at time of application; no holiday RTO will be approved
