Medical-Surgical Float Pool RN | Boston, MA

8-Week Contract | Rotating Days & Nights

This float pool position supports a wide range of medical-surgical units covering specialties including neurology, cardiac, bariatric, general medicine, general surgery, gynecology, genitourinary, orthopedics (hips and joints), oncology, and transplant (liver, kidney, and vascular).

Schedule

• Rotating days and nights with a combination of 8- and 12-hour shifts across a 4-week cycle
• Every other weekend and holidays required
• No on-call required
• 72 guaranteed hours biweekly
• Unit assignments are typically made for 2–3 week periods; occasionally, assignments may be communicated up to 2 hours before shift

Clinical Scope

• High-acuity medical-surgical patients across multiple specialty service lines
• Unit procedures include 12-lead EKGs, telemetry monitoring, blood transfusions, and drip management
• Respiratory therapy manages ventilators; RNs administer nebulizer treatments
• Patient ratios vary by shift and unit

Requirements

• Active Massachusetts RN license required at time of submission
• Minimum 3 years of RN experience
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) required
• Teaching hospital and specialty area experience preferred
• High-acuity trauma experience required
