Medical-Surgical Float Pool RN | Boston, MA

Rotating Days/Nights | 8-Week Contract

This float pool position supports a broad range of medical-surgical units within an acute care hospital in Boston, MA. Travel RNs rotate across units specializing in neurology, cardiac, bariatric, general medicine, general surgery, gynecology/urology, orthopedics, oncology, transplant (liver and kidney), and vascular care.

Schedule & Hours

• Rotating day and night shifts; combination of 12-hour and 8-hour shifts within a 4-week cycle
• One week per 4-week period consists of one 12-hour shift and three 8-hour shifts
• Every other weekend and holidays required
• No call required
• 72 guaranteed hours biweekly
• A set schedule cannot be provided; unit assignments may be given up to 2 hours before shift start

Clinical Scope

• 12-lead EKGs, Lasix drips, blood transfusions, and telemetry monitoring
• RN responsible for nebulizer administration; respiratory therapy manages ventilators
• High-acuity, varied patient populations across multiple specialty service lines

Requirements

• Active Massachusetts RN license required at time of submission
• Minimum 3 years of RN experience
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Teaching hospital and specialty area experience preferred
• BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) required
• Web-based computer navigation skills required

Additional Details

• Orientation held weekly on Mondays (excluding holidays)
• Any color scrubs accepted
• Public transportation accessible; parking available at candidate's expense
• RTO requests (maximum 3 days) must be submitted at time of application
