Progressive Care Unit (PCU) — Night Shift | Winchester, MA
Contract: 8 weeks | Shift: 12-hour nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Start Date: October 19, 2026
This PCU position places you in a fast-paced environment managing moderate-to-high acuity patients. Nurses in this role must be comfortable titrating pressors and caring for complex medical-surgical patients, with potential exposure to ED holds, inpatient holds, PACU overflow, and other boarding situations.
Schedule
- 12-hour night shifts with every-other-weekend commitment
- Weekend nights: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
- 72 guaranteed hours biweekly (on-call hours not included)
Float Requirements
- Floating occurs in 4-hour blocks within the shift across ED holds, PACU, and boarding units
Required Certifications
- BLS (AHA)
- ACLS (AHA)
- NIHSS (preferred)
Clinical Requirements
- Must be able to independently titrate vasopressors — please note this clearly in your application
- High-acuity trauma experience strongly preferred; candidates without prior travel experience must have this background
- Day-one pass/fail competency testing required; practice materials available in advance
