PCU / Stepdown

PCU Travel Nurse – Night Shift | Winchester, MA

This 8-week contract places you in a progressive care unit managing a mixed-acuity patient population. The unit supports high-dependency patients and coordinates closely with the ED, PACU, and inpatient boarding areas.

Shift & Schedule

• 12-hour nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• 72 guaranteed hours biweekly
• Every other weekend required (Friday, Saturday, Sunday for night shift)
• Start date: October 19, 2026 (weekly Monday starts)

Clinical Expectations

• Must be able to independently titrate vasopressors
• High-acuity trauma experience strongly preferred; required if no prior travel experience

• Floating occurs in 4-hour blocks within the shift to ED holds, inpatient holds, PACU, and other boarding units
• Day-one pass/fail competency testing administered upon arrival

Required Certifications

• BLS (American Heart Association)
• ACLS – AHA (preferred)
• NIHSS (preferred)

Additional Details

• Contract length: 56 weeks total program; this assignment is 8 weeks
• Candidates must have a minimum 6-month separation from any prior employment at this health system (permanent, per diem, or contract)
• Relias practice tests available prior to day-one assessment

This is a strong fit for experienced PCU or step-down nurses comfortable in fast-paced environments with cross-unit float expectations and complex hemodynamic management.
