Progressive Care Unit (PCU) — Night Shift | Winchester, MA
Contract: 8 weeks | Shift: 12-hour nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Start Date: October 19, 2026
This PCU position supports a high-acuity step-down environment with a varied patient population requiring close monitoring and skilled nursing intervention. Candidates must be comfortable titrating pressors — this is a firm requirement.
Schedule & Coverage
- 72 guaranteed hours biweekly (on-call hours not included)
- Every other weekend required (nights weekend = Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
- Floating occurs in 4-hour blocks within the shift to ED holds, inpatient holds, PACU, and other boarding units
Required Qualifications
- BLS (AHA)
- ACLS (AHA) — preferred but strongly encouraged
- NIHSS — preferred
- Demonstrated ability to titrate pressors
- Prior high-acuity trauma-level experience preferred; required if no previous travel nursing experience
Additional Requirements
- Day-one pass/fail competency testing; Relias practice tests provided in advance
- Candidates must have been separated from this health system for a minimum of 6 months (permanent, per diem, or contract)
- Weekly start dates (Mondays); this assignment begins October 19, 2026
