Medical-Surgical Float Pool RN | Boston, MA | 8-Week Contract

This float pool position supports a broad range of medical-surgical units, covering specialties including neurology, cardiac, bariatric, general medicine, general surgery, gynecology, urology, orthopedics (hips and joints), oncology, liver and kidney transplant, and vascular. Travel RNs are typically assigned to a single unit for 2–3 week stretches, though same-week reassignments can occur with advance notice when possible.

Shift & Schedule

• Rotating days and nights; mix of 8- and 12-hour shifts within a 4-week cycle
• One week per 4-week period includes one 12-hour shift and three 8-hour shifts
• Every other weekend required; holiday shifts required — no holiday time-off will be approved
• No on-call required
• 72 guaranteed hours biweekly

Clinical Scope

• Telemetry monitoring, 12-lead EKGs, blood transfusions, Lasix drips
• Respiratory therapists manage ventilators; RNs administer nebulizers
• Acuity ranges across multiple medical-surgical specialty populations

Requirements

• Active Massachusetts RN license required at time of submission
• Minimum 3 years of RN experience; prior travel nursing experience required
• BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) required
• Prior experience in a teaching hospital setting preferred
• Float pool comfort and adaptability to varied units essential
