Medical-Surgical Float Pool RN | Boston, MA | 8-Week Contract

This float pool position supports a broad range of medical-surgical units, covering specialties including neurology, cardiac, bariatric, general medicine, general surgery, gynecology, urology, orthopedics (hips and joints), oncology, liver and kidney transplant, and vascular. Travel RNs are typically assigned to a single unit for 2–3 week stretches, though unit assignments may occasionally be provided as close as two hours before shift start.

Shift & Schedule

• Rotating days and nights; combination of 8- and 12-hour shifts
• In a 4-week cycle, one week includes one 12-hour shift and three 8-hour shifts
• Every other weekend required; holidays required
• No on-call required
• Guaranteed 72 hours biweekly

Clinical Scope

• 12-lead EKGs, telemetry monitoring, blood transfusions, Lasix drips
• Nebulizer administration (RN responsibility); ventilator management handled by respiratory therapy
• High-acuity medical-surgical patient population across multiple subspecialties

Requirements

• Active Massachusetts RN license required
• Minimum 3 years of RN experience
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) required
• High-acuity inpatient experience preferred; teaching hospital background a plus
• Familiarity with web-based clinical applications required
