Medical-Surgical Float Pool RN | Boston, MA | 8-Week Contract

This float pool position supports a broad range of medical-surgical units covering specialties including neurology, cardiac, bariatric, general medicine, general surgery, gynecology, urology, orthopedics (hips and joints), oncology, transplant (liver and kidney), and vascular.

Schedule

• Rotating day/evening/night shifts combining 8- and 12-hour shifts
• Within a 4-week cycle, one week will include one 12-hour shift and three 8-hour shifts
• Every other weekend required; holidays required
• No on-call required
• Guaranteed 72 hours biweekly

Clinical Scope

• Unit procedures include 12-lead EKGs, Lasix drips, blood transfusions, and telemetry monitoring
• RN responsible for nebulizer administration
• Patient acuity varies across med-surg specialties; assignments may be provided up to 2 hours before shift start

Requirements

• Active Massachusetts RN license required at time of submission
• Minimum 3 years of RN experience
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• High-acuity and teaching hospital experience preferred
• BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) required
• Basic computer proficiency required

Additional Details

• Float pool assignment; unit placement typically spans 2–3 week periods
• Any color scrubs accepted
• Orientation held weekly on Mondays (excluding holidays)
• Public transportation available; daytime parking fees apply
• All RTO requests must be submitted at time of application; no holiday RTO approved; no more than 3 RTO days accepted
