Medical-Surgical Float Pool RN | Boston, MA | 8-Week Contract

This float pool position supports a broad range of medical-surgical units covering specialties including neurology, cardiac, bariatric, general medicine, general surgery, gynecology, genitourinary, orthopedics (hips and joints), oncology, liver and kidney transplant, and vascular. Travel RNs rotate across units, typically remaining on one unit for two to three weeks at a time, though occasional same-week unit changes may occur with advance notice when possible.

Shift & Schedule

• Rotating days and nights; combination of 8- and 12-hour shifts across a 4-week cycle
• Every other weekend and holidays required
• No on-call required
• 72 guaranteed hours biweekly
• RTO requests must be submitted at time of application; maximum three days RTO, no holiday RTO approved

Clinical Scope

• 12-lead EKGs, Lasix drips, blood transfusions, telemetry monitoring, nebulizer administration
• Respiratory therapists manage ventilators
• Patient population spans moderate to high medical-surgical acuity

Requirements

• Active Massachusetts RN license required at time of submission
• 3+ years of RN experience
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) required
• Teaching hospital and specialty area experience preferred
• Basic computer proficiency and web-based application navigation required

Additional Details

• Float pool assignment — flexibility across units is essential
• Any color scrubs accepted
• Orientation held weekly on Mondays (excluding holidays)
• Public transportation accessible; paid parking also available near the facility
