Medical Laboratory Scientist / Medical Technologist – Hematology (Coagulation & Urinalysis)

Morgantown, WV | Nights | 26-Week Contract

This position is focused exclusively within the hematology department's coagulation and urinalysis section. There is no direct patient contact and no phlebotomy requirement.

Shift & Schedule

• 8-hour nights: 10:30 PM – 7:00 AM
• 8-on/6-off rotation
• Weekends and holidays as scheduled
• No on-call or standby requirements
• Guaranteed 40 hours per week

Clinical Scope

• Perform coagulation testing and urinalysis analysis
• Work solely within the hematology department — no generalist coverage required
• Blood Bank coverage is not part of this role

Orientation

New staff complete a four-week day-shift training period before transitioning to independent night work. Management-led orientation covers safety, compliance, and department-specific policies and procedures.

Requirements

• MT (ASCP) or MT (AMT) certification required
• BLS not required (no direct patient contact)
• Experience in coagulation and urinalysis testing preferred
• Commitment to full 6-month contract required

Dress Code

Scrubs or business casual attire; no open-toed shoes. No designated scrub color.

Cancellation Policy

Up to 2 shifts per 13-week period; 1 shift for assignments under 13 weeks.
