Cardiac Telemetry RN – Night Shift | Richmond, VA

This 13-week contract opportunity is on a Cardiac Telemetry unit, working nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) with 36 guaranteed hours per week.

Unit Overview

The unit manages cardiac telemetry patients in a fast-paced environment with frequent admissions, discharges, and transfers. Bedside procedures include EKGs; more complex cardiac interventions are performed off-unit in the Cath Lab. The care team operates with strong physician communication and dynamic prioritization of patient needs.

Required Skills & Certifications

• Active telemetry experience with demonstrated EKG interpretation skills — required
• Ability to manage a high-volume unit with multiple simultaneous patient flow events
• Strong clinical judgment and timely physician notification when patient conditions change
• BLS and ACLS — required

Preferred Qualifications

• Effective priority-setting and adaptive care planning as patient conditions evolve
• Collaborative, team-oriented approach with a positive attitude

Schedule & Expectations

• Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Weekend requirement: Every 3rd Friday and Saturday night, plus one additional Friday or Saturday per schedule
• Holiday coverage: Halloween, Friday after Thanksgiving, and Christmas night
• Float: Med-Surg (low probability)
