Cardiovascular Step-Down (CSSU) – Travel RN | Portsmouth, New Hampshire

This 13-week travel nursing assignment places you in a cardiovascular and vascular surgery step-down unit in Portsmouth, NH. The unit manages high-acuity patients requiring telemetry monitoring, vasoactive drip titration, and pre- and post-operative cardiovascular care.

Shift & Schedule

• Days: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• 3 shifts per week (12 shifts/month)
• 4 weekend shifts per month
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Schedule built around approved time-off requests

Clinical Scope

• Strong telemetry skills required
• Vasoactive medication titration (levophed, phenylephrine, dopamine, dobutamine)
• Temporary pacing
• Pre-op prep for cardiovascular surgery
• Chest tube and arterial line removal
• Central monitoring station support for all patients

Preferred Skills *(candidates with these considered first)*

• Arterial line management
• Flo-Trac experience
• Temporary pacing

Required Certifications

• ACLS
• BLS

Unit Support

• 1–2 LNA support per shift
• Dedicated mobility team
• Bedside shift report at every change of shift

Float Policy

Travel staff float on a rotational basis and are prioritized first.

Dress Code

Scrubs — any color accepted
