Night Shift Perinatal Nurse
About the Role
The facility is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for its Labor & Delivery unit. You'll work nights (7 PM – 7 AM) providing routine and complex nursing care to obstetric patients and families. This is a full-time, 13-week contract position.
What You'll Do
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care using the full nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
- Administer medications and treatments; monitor for side effects and treatment effectiveness
- Address the psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
- Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
- Provide patient and family education; identify learning needs and resources
- Demonstrate clinical leadership and effective delegation
What We're Looking For
- License: Active RN license (Texas or compact state)
- Certifications:
- Current AWHONN Intermediate or NCC Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM)
- Current BLS (AHA)
- Current NRP
- Current ACLS (AHA)
- Experience: 1+ year in perinatal nursing preferred; recent L&D practice strongly preferred
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
Onboarding
You'll complete New Nurses Orientation within your first 30 days and be precepted by an experienced staff member. All organizational entry and perinatal-specific competency validations must be successfully completed, along with annual competency verification requirements.
