NICU Registered Nurse

Location: Bronx, NY

Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | Duration: 13 weeks

About the Role

The facility's NICU cares for critically ill and premature neonates requiring intensive monitoring and specialized support. You'll provide direct, comprehensive care to high-risk infants, managing complex medical needs in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver direct nursing care to critically ill and premature neonates, with continuous monitoring and rapid response capability
• Assess and respond to changes in neonatal condition, escalating care as appropriate
• Administer medications and titratable drips with precise neonatal dosing per physician orders
• Manage advanced life support equipment including ventilators, CPAP, umbilical lines, and warmers
• Support thermoregulation, feeding, and developmental care tailored to premature and high-risk infants
• Perform resuscitation interventions and rapid response as needed
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team (neonatologists, physicians, respiratory therapy, etc.) on plan of care
• Educate and support families on infant condition, treatment, and care—including kangaroo care
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure infection control protocols for immunocompromised patients

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in New York State (primary source verification required)
• Associate's degree in nursing (ADN) or higher
• BLS and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
• Minimum 1 year of NICU experience
• Two years of experience with maternal/child nursing, IV insertion/phlebotomy, and conscious sedation

Preferred

• RNC-NIC certification
• BSN degree
