Registered Nurse – Dialysis

Location: Brooklyn, NY

Shift: 4 × 10 days (7:00 AM–5:30 PM)

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

About the Role

The facility is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join its dialysis program. You'll provide direct patient care and monitoring to individuals undergoing hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis treatments in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess patients before, during, and after dialysis; monitor vital signs and fluid status
• Initiate and manage dialysis treatments, including vascular access care (fistulas, grafts, catheters)
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders
• Manage treatment complications (hypotension, cramping, access issues) with prompt intervention
• Educate patients and families on renal disease management, dietary adherence, and treatment compliance
• Collaborate with nephrologists, dietitians, and the care team on individualized treatment plans
• Maintain dialysis equipment, troubleshoot issues, and ensure infection control standards
• Document assessments, treatments, and patient responses accurately in the medical record
• Monitor lab values and adjust care plans based on treatment outcomes

Required Qualifications

• Current New York State RN license (or compact license as applicable)
• Associate's degree (ADN/ASN) from an accredited nursing program
• Minimum 2 years of hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis experience
• 2+ years of IV insertion and phlebotomy experience
• 2+ years of conscious sedation experience
• BLS certification required
• Primary source verification of license and registration from NYS Department of Education

Preferred Qualifications

• CNN (Certified Nephrology Nurse) or CDN (Certified Dialysis Nurse)
• BSN degree
• ACLS certification
