Emergency Department Nurse

Position Overview

The facility's Emergency Department is seeking a full-time nurse for a 13-week contract. You'll provide care to patients of all ages in a fast-paced acute setting designated as a stroke center.

Shift & Schedule

• 12-hour shifts: 3p–3a or 7p–7a
• Every other weekend required
• Rotating holidays
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• No floating between units

Clinical Responsibilities

You'll manage:

• Telemetry monitoring and EKG strip interpretation
• IV therapy and medication administration
• Mechanical ventilation support

• Collaboration with hospitalists, 24/7 respiratory therapy support, and nursing aides

Requirements

• Active New York State RN license in good standing
• ACLS, PALS, and BLS certification (current at time of submission)
• Floor-specific orientation provided

Contract Details

• 13 weeks
• Start date: September 22, 2026
• Scrubs: Any color
• Charge nurse role not assigned to travelers

Important: Travel nurses cannot volunteer to leave shifts or refuse assignments and receive guaranteed time. GTE does not apply during orientation week, unit closure, holidays, or weeks containing RTO.
