Registered Nurse — Medical-Surgical/Telemetry
Location: Paducah, KY
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Schedule: 36 hours/week | 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM

About the Role
Join the facility's medical-surgical/telemetry unit as an RN providing comprehensive care to adult patients with medical, surgical, and cardiac conditions. You will monitor cardiac rhythms and vital signs, administer medications and treatments including cardiac drips, and manage pre- and post-operative care. Your clinical focus will include patients with diabetes, cardiac, and respiratory diagnoses requiring close assessment and rapid response to changes in condition.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and implement individualized care plans
- Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms and vital signs; recognize and respond to changes
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders
- Manage wound care, pain management, and post-operative recovery
- Coordinate care with physicians, cardiologists, case managers, and the interdisciplinary team
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately
- Maintain infection control and fall prevention protocols
- Care for a typical patient load of 4–6 patients per shift
Requirements
- Active, unrestricted RN license in Kentucky (or compact license as applicable)
- BLS and ACLS certification required
- ADN or ASN (BSN preferred)
- Minimum 1 year of med-surg/telemetry experience
- Demonstrated telemetry/EKG interpretation competency
- Strong communication, collaboration, and critical thinking skills
No prior travel nursing experience required. Reliable, patient-centered care and a commitment to evidence-based practice are essential.
