Cardiac ICU | Travel RN | Redding, CA

13-Week Contract | 12-Hour Days | 36 Hours Guaranteed

This Cardiac ICU position focuses on high-acuity critical care, with a primary patient population of fresh post-open-heart surgery cases and mixed ICU presentations. Candidates must have recent, hands-on experience with fresh open hearts — this is a firm requirement.

Shift & Schedule

• 12-hour day shifts, 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM
• Every other weekend required
• Self-scheduling, finalized approximately 6 weeks in advance
• First to float to telemetry or med-surg units as needed
• Must be available for 2 of the 3 major holidays

Unit Details

• Charge Nurse on unit; does not carry a patient assignment
• Hospitalist coverage 24/7; Respiratory Therapy and Pharmacy available around the clock
• No nurse aides on unit
• Scrub color: Navy
• 1-day unit-specific orientation provided

Important — Day One Requirement

All Cardiac ICU RNs must pass a proctored Dysrhythmia Test on-site on day one. This is a pass/fail exam — come prepared.

Cancellation Policy

The facility may cancel up to 4 shifts over a 13-week assignment.

Required Certifications

• ACLS
• BLS
• PALS
• NIHSS

Required Experience

• Recent experience with fresh open-heart surgery patients
• Mixed ICU patient management

BSN not required. Active RN license required prior to submission.
