CT/X-Ray Technologist – Emergency Department
Position Overview
The facility is seeking a CT/X-Ray Technologist for its freestanding emergency department. This is a fast-paced environment where you'll work the night shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) and manage both CT and X-ray imaging independently, often as single coverage for both modalities.
Unit Details
The emergency department handles an average of 80 patients daily, with volume exceeding 100 during winter months. Patient acuity is moderate to high, with a focus on acute stroke evaluation and moderate pediatric cases. You'll perform standard emergency imaging procedures—no surgical or biopsy work.
Key Requirements
- Minimum 2 years hospital experience
- Current Virginia nursing license or compact license (required at time of application)
- CPR certification
- ARRT certification
- ARRT-CT certification
What You'll Do
- Operate GE CT and portable X-ray equipment
- Work independently covering both imaging modalities
- Support acute stroke protocols
- Communicate effectively with the ER team and patients
Schedule & Assignment Details
- Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- 36 guaranteed hours per week
- Rotating weekends and holidays; no on-call requirements
- 13-week contract
- No floating required
