NICU Travel Nurse — Chattanooga, TN

Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (nights)

Contract Duration: 13 weeks | Guaranteed Hours: 36/week

Start Date: October 19, 2026

This Level III/IV NICU serves a high-acuity neonatal population in a close-knit, nurse-driven environment. The unit is staffed without techs or unit secretaries, so nurses manage hands-on care from admission through discharge. The team is exceptionally tenured — many nurses bring 20–35+ years of NICU experience, creating a strong, collaborative bedside culture.

Patient Population & Acuity

Premature and critically ill neonates requiring intensive respiratory, nutritional, and hemodynamic support. Assignments vary by acuity.

Procedures You'll Perform

• PIV insertion, feeding tube insertion, lab draws, straight catheterization
• Central line management
• Airway and respiratory management in conjunction with the respiratory team
• Assist with intubation, surfactant administration, central line placement, and chest tube placement

Scheduling

• 36 hours/week with variable weekends
• Willingness to take standby/call during low-census periods is strongly preferred
• Optional overtime available

Float

Floating is not required; occasional voluntary float to mother-baby in a tech role only.

Required Certifications

BLS, NRP, STABLE

Required Experience

Minimum one year of Level III or IV NICU nursing experience
