Registered Nurse – Float Pool

Position Overview

The facility is seeking an experienced float nurse to work across multiple medical-surgical and specialty units. You'll provide care to diverse patient populations while maintaining flexibility and clinical excellence across different departments.

Shift & Schedule

• 12-hour shifts, primarily nights (every other weekend)
• 36 hours per week
• Most Fridays required
• Maximum 5 days of time off can be requested per contract period
• 13-week contract

Clinical Scope

You'll float between:

• Medical-surgical units (orthopedics, urology, neurology, gynecology)
• Cardiology/telemetry
• General surgery
• Cardio-thoracic care

Required Qualifications

• 4+ years recent acute care experience
• Stepdown experience preferred for night shifts
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certification
• Ability to adapt quickly to different units and patient populations
• One recent successful travel contract
• Proficiency with telemetry monitoring

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years float pool experience
• Psychiatric nursing experience
• Experience with electronic health records systems
