Labor & Delivery RN — Travel Contract

Stockton, CA | 13-Week Assignment | 12-Hour Days

This high-volume Labor & Delivery unit manages approximately 300 deliveries per month, with a patient population that includes high-risk OB patients with multiple comorbidities, multiple gestations, and a significant volume of surrogate pregnancies. No neonatal surgeries are performed on-site; complex neonates are transferred to a higher level of care.

Shift & Schedule

• 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | 36 guaranteed hours/week
• Every other weekend (additional weekends possible based on rotation)
• 2 of 3 major holidays required
• No on-call requirement
• First to float: Postpartum, then NICU

Unit Scope

• OB ED, antepartum, labor, and cesarean OR coverage
• Laborist and anesthesia available in-house 24/7
• OB techs scrub C-sections (2 per shift)
• NICU nurse and respiratory therapy attend all high-risk deliveries
• Baby-friendly unit with first-hour skin-to-skin protocols emphasized
• Strong IV skills required
• 2-shift floor-specific orientation

Required Certifications

• BLS, ACLS, NRP, Advanced Fetal Monitoring

Additional Requirements

• Experienced travelers only — no first-time travelers
• Experience in high-risk OB, multiples, and surrogacy preferred
• Familiarity with perinatal care documentation and initiatives essential
• Scrubs provided by the facility
• All pre-arrival compliance modules must be completed before start date — no exceptions
