Labor & Delivery Nurse – 12-Hour Night Shift
About the Role
Join the labor & delivery team in a fast-paced obstetric unit serving approximately 250 births per month. You'll provide comprehensive care across labor, delivery, recovery, postpartum, and women's health services, with a focus on high-risk obstetric cases. All nurses float across L&D, postpartum, cesarean sections, and women's health—this is not a single-specialty position.
Clinical Environment
Requirements
- Current RN license (California)
- BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring certifications required
- Ability to start your own IVs
- Willingness to float across multiple clinical areas
Schedule & Expectations
- 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Every other weekend (4 shifts per 4-week period, typically scheduled as two consecutive days plus two separate shifts)
- Must work one major and one minor holiday per contract year
- On-call availability as census requires (30-minute response time)
- First-to-float assignment
Contract Details
- 13-week assignment
- 36 guaranteed hours per week
- Start: October 12, 2026
Orientation
Three shifts of baseline unit-specific training, plus online GNOSIS training and perinatal safety specialist instruction.
