Med Surg

Medical/Surgical RN – Night Shift | Saint Johnsbury, VT

Contract: 13 weeks | Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Three 12-hour shifts per week, 36 hours guaranteed | Every other weekend required | Start Date: October 14, 2026

This Med/Surg position is based at a rural critical access facility in Vermont's Northeast Kingdom. The unit provides comprehensive care across medical, surgical, outpatient, observation, swing bed, and occasional pediatric cases — though this is primarily an adult unit. Candidates with pediatric-only experience will not be considered.

Clinical Scope:

• Adult Med/Surg patients with varied acuity
• Care encompasses medical, surgical, observation, and swing bed designations
• Holistic approach addressing physiological, psychosocial, and developmental patient needs
• Reporting structure includes the Unit Director, Clinical Nurse Lead, and/or Nursing Supervisor

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of acute care RN experience
• Current Vermont RN or multi-state compact licensure
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• ACLS certification
• Flu vaccination required — no exceptions
• All credentials must be submitted at least 5 business days prior to start date

Logistics:

• Travelers begin orientation on Wednesdays
• Reliable personal transportation is essential — rideshare and public transit are not available in this area
• Housing is the traveler's responsibility; arranging accommodations in advance is strongly recommended
