Unit Overview
- Medical-surgical telemetry unit
- Patient population requires general med-surg and telemetry-level monitoring
- Collaborative staffing model includes charge RNs, LPNs, and patient care technicians
Key Responsibilities
- Peripheral IV starts and maintenance
- Wound care and dressing changes
- Standard medical-surgical nursing skills
- Telemetry monitoring and interpretation
Requirements
- Medical-surgical nursing experience — required
- Telemetry experience — required
- Charge nurse experience — preferred
- BLS certification — required
Scheduling
- Guaranteed hours: 36 per week
- Weekends: Every other weekend, or 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
- Contract length: 13 weeks
Float & Dress Code
- Travelers float before permanent staff; float areas include other med-surg units and ED holding medical-surgical patients
- Scrubs: All navy, all white, or white top with navy pants; navy or white undershirts permitted
