Registered Nurse – Telemetry

Location: Louisville, KY

Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM, days | Every other weekend required

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

About the Role

You'll provide direct nursing care to patients on a telemetry unit, managing acute and cardiac patients with continuous monitoring and skilled assessment. This role demands strong clinical judgment, cardiac rhythm interpretation, and the ability to respond quickly to changes in patient condition.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform continuous cardiac monitoring; interpret rhythms and identify arrhythmias, escalating care as needed
• Assess, monitor, and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
• Administer medications, including cardiac drips and antiarrhythmics, per physician orders
• Collaborate with cardiologists, physicians, and the interdisciplinary team on the plan of care
• Respond to rapid response and code interventions
• Educate patients and families on cardiac conditions, treatment plans, and lifestyle modifications
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the electronic medical record
• Manage a typical patient load while maintaining infection control and fall prevention protocols

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license (state or compact)
• BLS and ACLS certification
• Minimum 1+ years of telemetry/cardiac monitoring experience
• Demonstrated competency in EKG interpretation and cardiac rhythm management
• Ability to manage cardiac medications and monitor hemodynamic changes
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing
