Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery/Postpartum (LDRP)
Location: Louisville, KY
Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Duration: 13 weeks

About the Role
Join the facility's labor & delivery team providing comprehensive, family-centered care across the full continuum of labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum in one LDRP unit. You'll deliver high-quality nursing care to mothers and newborns while supporting a positive birth experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and interpret fetal heart rate patterns and uterine contractions, escalating concerns promptly
- Administer labor medications (induction/augmentation agents) and provide epidural support per physician orders
- Assist with vaginal deliveries and provide immediate postpartum recovery care
- Perform maternal and newborn assessments as part of couplet care
- Manage high-risk OB and postpartum conditions with appropriate interventions
- Support and educate mothers on breastfeeding, infant care, and bonding
- Collaborate with OB physicians, midwives, anesthesia, and pediatric teams
- Provide continuity of care throughout the patient's hospital stay
- Document labor, delivery, and postpartum care accurately in the EMR
Requirements
- Active RN license in Kentucky (or compact license)
- ADN minimum; BSN preferred
- BLS, ACLS, and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certifications required
- 1+ years of L&D/LDRP experience
- Strong knowledge of fetal monitoring, labor management, and postpartum/couplet care
- AWHONN Fetal Monitoring certification preferred
Professional, collaborative communication and a commitment to evidence-based practice are essential.
