Registered Nurse – Medical-Surgical/Telemetry

Location: Elizabethtown, KY

Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Start Date: October 26, 2026

About the Role

The facility is seeking an RN to deliver comprehensive care on a medical-surgical telemetry unit. You'll work with adult patients managing a wide range of medical, surgical, and cardiac conditions, including post-operative recovery, chronic disease management (diabetes, cardiac, respiratory), and acute cardiac events.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform continuous cardiac monitoring and vital sign surveillance; recognize and respond promptly to rhythm changes and patient deterioration
• Administer medications and IV therapies, including cardiac drips, per physician orders
• Manage pre- and post-operative patient care, including wound assessment and pain management
• Coordinate interdisciplinary care planning and discharge activities with physicians, case managers, and the healthcare team
• Provide patient and family education on conditions, medications, treatments, and discharge instructions
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately
• Maintain infection control and fall prevention standards
• Typically care for 4–6 patients per shift

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted RN license (or compact license) in Kentucky
• 1+ year of medical-surgical or telemetry experience
• Telemetry/EKG interpretation competency
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• ADN or ASN; BSN preferred
