REGISTERED NURSE – MEDICAL-SURGICAL / TELEMETRY

Location: Elizabethtown, KY

Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (3×12 schedule, weekend and holiday rotation)

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Start Date: October 26, 2026

POSITION OVERVIEW

The facility is seeking an experienced RN for its Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit. You'll provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with a wide range of medical, surgical, and cardiac conditions, working night shift with weekend and holiday responsibilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Deliver direct patient care focused on assessment, treatment, and patient/family education
• Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms and vital signs; identify and respond to changes in patient condition
• Administer medications and treatments, including cardiac drips as ordered
• Manage pre- and post-operative care, including wound care and pain management
• Coordinate care for patients with chronic and acute conditions (diabetes, cardiac, respiratory diagnoses)
• Collaborate with physicians, cardiologists, case managers, and the interdisciplinary team on plan of care and discharge planning
• Ensure infection control and fall prevention protocols are followed
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient response accurately in the medical record
• Manage a typical patient load of 4–6 patients per shift (varies by acuity)

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Active, unrestricted RN license in Kentucky (or compact license as applicable)
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• 1+ years of Medical-Surgical/Telemetry experience
• Telemetry/EKG interpretation competency
• ADN or ASN (BSN preferred)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous nursing experience beyond the minimum requirement
