Registered Nurse – Medical-Surgical/Telemetry

Location: Lexington, KY

Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week (including weekends and holidays as needed)

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Start Date: October 19, 2026

About the Role

The facility is seeking an experienced RN to join its Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit. You'll provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with a wide range of medical, surgical, and cardiac conditions in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms and vital signs; identify and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders, including cardiac drips as applicable
• Manage pre- and post-operative care for surgical patients, including wound care and pain management
• Coordinate care for patients with chronic and acute conditions (diabetes, cardiac, respiratory diagnoses)
• Perform patient assessments, develop individualized care plans, and delegate tasks appropriately
• Educate patients and families on conditions, treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions
• Collaborate with physicians, cardiologists, case managers, and the interdisciplinary team on care coordination and discharge planning
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the EMR
• Maintain infection control and fall prevention protocols

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in Kentucky (or compact license as applicable)
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• Minimum 1+ years of Med-Surg/Telemetry experience
• Telemetry/EKG interpretation competency
• ADN or ASN (BSN preferred)
