Emergency Department Registered Nurse
Location: Lexington, KY
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 3 days per week (3x12s)
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Start Date: October 19, 2026
About the Role
The facility's emergency department is seeking an experienced RN to join a high-acuity, fast-paced team. You'll deliver rapid, comprehensive care to patients presenting with emergent and urgent conditions, from minor injuries to trauma activations and codes.
Key Responsibilities
- and assess incoming patients; prioritize care based on acuity
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions per physician orders and protocols
- Respond to trauma activations, codes, and rapid patient deterioration
- Monitor and manage patients awaiting admission, transfer, or discharge
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams on plan of care
- Educate patients and families on discharge instructions and follow-up
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient response accurately
- Maintain patient flow and throughput in a high-volume environment
- Ensure infection control and safety protocols are followed
Requirements
- Active, unrestricted RN license in Kentucky (or compact license)
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification required
- Minimum 1+ years of ER experience
- Experience with protocols and high-acuity environments
- BSN preferred; ADN accepted
Preferred Certifications
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- CEN (Certified Emergency Nurse)
Schedule
Weekends and holidays as needed. Third shift assignment.
