Surgical Tech – Cardiac, Thoracic & Vascular (CVOR)

The Role

The facility's CVOR service line performs routine and complex cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgical interventions. You'll support procedures including coronary artery bypass, valve repair/replacement, aortic dissection, heart transplantation, ventricular assist device placement, Impella and intra-aortic balloon pump placement, adult ECMO, and TAVR. Thoracic cases include laparoscopic, robot-assisted, and open procedures. Vascular work spans ESRD graft/fistula placement and revision to endovascular interventions. The service operates 4–6 ORs with capacity for four concurrent cardiopulmonary bypass procedures.

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 3 years recent full-time CVOR CST experience in a high-volume hospital setting
• Demonstrated proficiency across all cardiac, thoracic, and vascular procedures
• Ability to function independently in a fast-paced environment and hit the ground running
• Verifiable references from at least two prior travel assignments confirming no training was needed
• Willingness to participate in call coverage for after-hours and weekend service line needs

Schedule & Details

• Shift: 10:30 AM – 9:00 PM, Monday–Thursday (4 shifts/week)
• Contract: 13 weeks
• Start Date: October 11, 2026
• Location: Austin, TX
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 per week

Requirements

Current license/certificate verification, vaccinations (MMR, Hepatitis B, Influenza, Varicella, Tdap), 2-step PPD or IGRA, government-issued ID, and criminal background clearance.
