Medical-Surgical Telemetry Nurse
Position Overview
The facility is seeking experienced Med/Surg Tele nurses to join the medical-surgical unit providing care to post-operative patients requiring overnight monitoring and management.
Shift & Schedule
- 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- 36 or 48 hours per week (your choice)
- Every other weekend
- Float assignments available to other med/surg tele units across local campuses
Clinical Scope
You'll care for post-operative patients recovering from procedures including prostatectomy, mastectomy, abdominal surgeries, and thyroidectomy. Responsibilities include administering medications such as heparin, monitoring telemetry, and providing interdisciplinary post-operative care.
Requirements
- 2+ years of Med/Surg or Telemetry nursing experience
- Active Iowa nursing license (RN) or compact license
- Active BLS certification (AHA preferred; ARC or US Military accepted)
- Active NIHSS certification
- Current driver's license
- One supervisory reference from the past two years
First-time travelers are welcome.
Contract Details
- 13-week assignment
- Orientation: October 26, 2026
- Dress code: Navy Blue
- Non-local candidates only (must reside at least 50 miles from facility)
