Med/Surg Tele Nurse – 13-Week Contract

Position Overview

Join the medical/surgical telemetry unit as a night shift nurse caring for post-operative patients. You'll work in a fast-paced environment managing patients recovering from procedures including prostatectomy, mastectomy, abdominal surgeries, and thyroidectomy. This role offers the flexibility to float to other med/surg tele units as needed.

Shift & Schedule

• Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Hours: 36 or 48 hours per week (your choice)
• Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Start Date: October 12, 2026

Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide post-operative patient care and monitoring
• Administer medications including heparin drips
• Utilize telemetry monitoring
• Participate in interdisciplinary team rounds and care planning

Requirements

• 2+ years of med/surg or telemetry nursing experience
• Active Iowa (or compact) RN license
• Active BLS certification (AHA preferred)
• Active NIHSS certification
• Valid driver's license
• Supervisory reference form (completed within 2 years)
• First-time travelers welcome
