ICU Nurse – 12-Hour Night Shift
Position Overview
Join the ICU as a staff nurse on a 13-week contract. You'll work 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) with every other weekend required. This is a first-to-float role, meaning you may be assigned to sister facilities and the medical-surgical unit as needed.
The Unit
What You'll Need
- Current RN license (California)
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications
- Ability to read and interpret EKG strips
- Two supervisor references: one within the last 12 months and one within the last 3 years
Before You Start
You'll complete a DYS exam through Relias (required within 24–48 hours of offer acceptance; pass/fail with 2 attempts allowed). Recent exams (within 12 months) may be accepted.
Scheduling & Expectations
- Guaranteed 36 hours per week
- Self-scheduling with manager approval; schedules posted 4 weeks in advance
- Shift report occurs at the bedside
- Extra shifts and overtime available
- Navy scrubs required (undershirts in navy, white, or black)
- Rotate holiday coverage: you'll work 2 of 3 major holidays
Orientation
You'll receive 1–2 days of floor-specific orientation with a preceptor.
