Progressive Care Unit (PCU) – Night Shift

Position Overview

Join the interdisciplinary team in a progressive care setting providing clinical expertise and patient management. You'll care for acutely ill patients across a range of cardiac and critical conditions in a fast-paced environment.

Shift & Schedule

• 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (12-hour nights)
• 36-hour weekly guarantee
• Every other weekend and holiday
• Floating required to all inpatient units and emergency department
• May float across local campuses within the same discipline

Clinical Scope

You'll manage patients with conditions including congestive heart failure, cardiac arrhythmias, stroke, sepsis, diabetic ketoacidosis, and those undergoing procedures such as ablation, angiogram, TCAR, EVAR, and pacemaker placement.

• Acuity: High-acuity post-procedural and critical care patients

Requirements

• 2+ years nursing experience (first-time travelers welcome)
• Active Iowa RN license or compact license
• Current BLS (AHA preferred; ARC or US Military accepted)
• Current ACLS (AHA preferred; ARC or US Military accepted)
• Current NIHSS Certification
• Supervisory reference from within the last two years
• Valid driver's license
• Work history and PCU-specific skills checklist

Contract Details

• Duration: 13 weeks
• Start: October 12, 2026
• Orientation dates: 10/12, 10/26
