Med/Surg Telemetry RN — Des Moines, IA | 13-Week Contract

This Med/Surg Telemetry unit provides a broad range of medical-surgical care, welcoming patients across a variety of diagnoses and acuity levels. The team is actively building a collaborative, growth-oriented culture, and is looking for adaptable travelers who bring positive energy and a willingness to support others.

Schedule

• Days, 12-hour shifts
• 4x12 (48 hrs/week); 3x12 (36 hrs/week) may be accommodated
• Every other or every third weekend, depending on staffing/census
• Holiday rotation required: 1–2 of the following (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's)

Clinical Details

• Varied med/surg patient population

• Heparin drip management
• Remote telemetry monitoring
• Float requirement across multiple campuses within the health system
• Scrubs: Navy blue, solids

Requirements

• Minimum 24 months of Med/Surg or Med/Surg Telemetry experience
• At least one completed travel contract within the previous 18 months (no first-time travelers)
• Charge nurse experience required; precepting experience a plus
• Proficiency with heparin administration
• Telemetry/cardiac background highly preferred
• Active Iowa RN license or compact/multistate license at time of submission
• BLS from AHA or ARC
• Must reside 50+ miles from the facility
